Would a wireless keyboard/mouse cause issues with internet connection?

It seems shortly after I installed a wireless keyboard and mouse to my PC, I am unable to get an internet connection to my laptop, which has a wireless router. Would that interfere with the wireless signal to the laptop? It seems a bit of a coincidence that right after I hooked up the keyboard and mouse, the connection to the internet to the laptop stops working. Any suggestions?
