atomic charge in OUTCAR file

Hi,
In the vasp.4.6.12 version, when performing a DOS calculation (LORBIT=12, PAW, GGA 91, blablabla), a table appears at the end of the OUTCAR file, named "total charge".
WHAT is its meaning ?
