Reference point for Density of States
I am doing work on comparing the density of states for structures with varying defects and it has come up that my group and I do not know of a reference point that allows comparisons of the data. Due to the nature of my defects, we would prefer to not use valence states because they can fluctuate in position between structures. I was wondering if the 0 eV point in the density of states is the same reference point in all density of state calculations and how is the reference point determined?
