nvhpc hpc-x compilation got segmentation fault

#1 Post by davidnormal » Sun Jun 11, 2023 7:40 am

Dear viewer,

I got segmentation fault using the hpc-x version of nvhpc

Software stack: nvhpc23.5 with hpc-x on, cuda11.8/cuda12.1, fftw3.3.10

When running mpirun -n 1 vasp_std, got the following error information

Code: Select all

Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault: address not mapped to object at address 0x50)
Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault: address not mapped to object at address 0x50)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Primary job terminated normally, but 1 process returned
a non-zero exit code. Per user-direction, the job has been aborted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
mpirun noticed that process rank 0 with PID 0 on node *** exited on signal 11 (Segmentation fault).
I can compile and pass the test without hpc-x though.

Thanks for help

Hi,

we have not tried to use the hpc-x version of nvhpc. Could you send the test that you are running?

Cheers,
Marie-Therese
