stacksize limitations

#1 Post by alex » Thu Nov 05, 2015 5:21 pm

Dear all,

I'd like to share some information on a problem which puzzled me some time.

In some parts of VASP the program just stopped calling some (non-)usual part: e.g. linear response, exact exchange. It might be only my installation, but browsing the forum and the internet gave me the idea to put the (or better: one?) solution here.

The problem is caused by stacksize limitations, which are, at least on my system, hard to overcome. However, some smart person at Drexel University figured out a workaround:
https://proteusmaster.urcf.drexel.edu/u ... iling_VASP

It helped in my cases

Thanks to the unknown VASP master!

Dear Alex,

Thanks a lot for sharing this! Out of curiosity, does this happens with the recent version of VASP only, i.e. 5.4.1 ?

Thanks
Mostafa

Hello Mostafa,

I got this behaviour with all VASP 5 versions. (v4 has noch exact exchange or linear response)

If you do not observe this so far, I would not worry. Maybe it's just me. :-)

Cheers,

alex
