VASP 5.3 and OpenMP?

#1 Post by cchang » Thu Jan 31, 2013 1:07 am

Hi,

I'm trying to build vasp 5.3 for a dual quad-core Nehalem cluster. I have read at http://cms.mpi.univie.ac.at/wiki/index. ... lelization that VASP is under "heavy development" for some explicit OpenMP parallelization, which I can access by adding "-openmp -openmp-report(=)2". When I do this (using Intel Composer XE 2013), I see no diagnostics suggesting OpenMP directives, and I'm not grepping up any '\$omp' in the source files.
Is OpenMP still limited to what's in MKL for now, or is there some code I'm not seeing?

Thanks!

openMP is NOT supposed to be used in the current release of VASP.
